This is my first Norwegian Cruise I have taken. I have been on 3 Carnival cruises, and got a pretty good deal on a NCL cruise and pretty excited about it. Ive had friends tell me that Norwegian is so much "nicer" and "better" than Carnival. Well, I beg to differ. Norwegian pretty much evened out to be about as good as a Carnival cruise. Some things they were better at, other things, not so much.

Bar/Service/staff- This particular cruise, I got a promotion for the Ultimate Beverage Pass for free. Well, I think everyone on this particular cruise had this promotion, whicch made it very difficult at times to get a drink. I think the staff was unfortunately way overworked and understaffed with these promotions because a lot of times staff was slow, had thier backs turned a lot whenever you wanted a drink. Ive found that the staff didn't seem as happy, or joyful as the staff I have encountered on Carnival ships. Also, having to print out and sign a receipt for every drink, even though you have the beverage pass was pretty annoying, and added extra time and work for everyone. NOt to mention the waste of paper. Dont get me wrong, a lot of the staff were very pleasant, and didnt encounter an issue with rudeness from any of them, they just didn't seem as up beat and happy to serve as much as Ive seen on carnival ships.

Room- We got an oceanview room with a port hole. The port hole was a pretty large port hole, and was pretty surprised how large it was. The room itself was a little smaller than what i have encountered on Carnival ships. The room was always cleaned, but dissapointed we never got any towel animals made on any of the days.
