Although we had a good time with our "adult" family members, we felt that the ship was overrun with kids. We went to celebrate spring break with my brother and his wife, my spouse, and our kids as a family vacation. The girls are over 18 and we are all in our late 40's - early 50's. After going through a pretty fast embarkation, we were soon encountered by all sorts of "tweens" and kids running through the halls and causing damage and disruption wherever they went. We suffered through our neighbors on both sides who had apparently decided to leave them in the room so they could party all night was a good idea. They screamed, jumped off the beds and ran up an down the hallways until at least 1:00am. There were other kids who thought it was funny to run down the hallways hitting each door loudly, causing us to get up and answer the door at least once every night. The "gangs" of teens would hang out in the elevator area of each floor - sometimes groups of twenty! We were very uncomfortable working our way around them every time we went to our room. There were kids in the pool area, cutting in buffet lines, dropping trash everywhere, and going into the only place we had a chance of peace - Serenity pool area. The pool was empty when we got there and then filled with brown water.... gross. The pool area, although mostly peaceful was overshadowed by the slide area right above the deck! So from 10 - 6, you got it - screaming kids. The clubs were overrun. We couldn't play shuffleboard without constantly being surrounded by the kids and one even walked right up and pushed off the silica and shoved our pucks! I would suggest they re-think how they manage the time and places for adults, as we pay for vacation too. And really people...manage your children. Just because they are "captured" within the ship, doesn't mean you can abandon them to run around like wild animals.

Fine. The ship seems "old" and we couldn't figure out why they kept that mermaid looking woman all over the place. She was creepy. Was that Miracle? I never got the ship story.... art was weird and out of place.

Our service was good. We liked William and he was in and out of our rooms without disturbing us at all.

Port Reviews

Los Angeles

We were in and out fairly quickly. We did have a "personal" cooler that was an inch too long and we had to put all our stuff in our carry-ons. We could have had it held for the week at $25, but let it go. There were many other bags that were 2 or 3 times bigger and we should have been able to bring it aboard.

Cabo San Lucas

Took our girls to Cabo Wabo, then Giggling Marlin, then another really cool bar with all sorts of art and iron work. We had the best time there and were treated very well! The prices were good and we danced upstairs - by ourselves.... tequila!

Mazatlan

There are blue-shirted volunteers who meet you on the tram to the cruise port area. They seem to be local residents who have retired there and are pushing the safety aspect of the city. We only felt weird as we were walking downtown by following the "blue line". The police lined the streets all the way to the courtyard/church then dissipated. that was more nerve-wracking than not having police at all. Turns out the volunteer told us that the police are only there on cruise days. Otherwise, they don't have them around. I get the extra security, but more subtle presence would be nice.
