We just returned from our first Celebrity cruise after a handful on Royal. It was a somewhat last minute spring break trip with our youngest (18) son. I was surprised to find availability and a reasonable rate for a Concierge level veranda cabin. Itinerary was a day at sea, Cozumel, day at sea, Key West, then returning to Port Everglades.
We've been very happy with RCCL and expected Celebrity to be a notch better - in terms of food, service and amenities. I would say it was a somewhat mixed bag, but overall we had a great time and will return to Celebrity.
We'd read that Constellation was showing it's age a bit. That may be the case in some areas, but overall the ship didn't appear worn to us. Our cabin was in good shape, and other than a few rough spots in the exterior (joints with a bit of corrosion, to be expected), and some teak railings in need of refinishing (it was in process - our cabin railing was fine), I would say she is looking good.
Standard cabin with sleeper sofa and veranda. This cabin sits under the Oceanview dining room, but we hardly ever noticed any noise due to this. It was very convenient for traveling up to the pool or buffet. Beds were comfortable.
No other noise issues, or issues with the view from the balcony. The dining room overhangs the veranda, which creates more shade and less of a vertical (up) view. Bathroom was small (typical), with no power outlets. Charging mobile devices was a challenge.
Went to Nachi-cocom beach resort based on recommendations on this site. It was very quiet, tho not a luxury resort. Mellow, and plenty of food and drinks.
