Hong Kong round trip on Millennium. Stops Taiwan, Vietnam. Picked this cruise for the locations it stopped at and not the cruise ship. Had read many negative reviews.
Embarkation as previously reported, 3 and a half hours queuing to get on the ship, no communication and nobody from the ship at all to be found . Worst ever. The emergency drill, because of this had to be delayed and was rearranged for the exact time of departure, so when we were leaving the beautiful skyline of hongkong, we were all in the lounge. Not much thought really and a delay of half an hour of our departure would have perhaps been more thoughtful.
I found the ship although as stated an older cruise ship, certainly not falling apart and they are constantly painting & varnishing as on other ships. Part of the main restaurant was closed for work and although two floors up from this, we were woken at 6.30 in the morning on several occasions with them drilling.
As expected from previous cruises. Spotlessly clean both room and bathroom. Good size balcony as one of the bigger ones. You do look over the balcony below however, didn't bother us, but may some if you want complete privacy.
Need to get taxi on day of embarkation. Kai tak cruise terminal has free shuttle bus to several shopping malls. Regardless of where you want to go, just get on one of these and then you will be at an MTR & can go anywhere in the city. In fact we did this on disembarkation as the wait for taxi's was over 60 mins at 7.15 am. We headed on free shuttle to shopping centre then picked up a taxi from there to central station. No waiting at all
We had 3 days per cruise and really enjoyed the experience
