I was excited to go on NCL's biggest ship, but my excitement quickly turned to disappointment. Embarkation went smoothly, and I felt like things were off to a great start. Then, I got to the cabin. Without a doubt, this is the worst cabin I've ever been in. By not separating the restroom/shower in a separate area, but only using a curtain, you effectively trap one person on the inside or outside of the room. The one plus side: cabin location was AWESOME. We couldn't have picked a better area to stay in.
The entertainment was okay, but somewhat disappointing; the Blue Man Group was phenomenal, as expected, and the Cirque show was phenomenal, as expected (albeit at additional cost). But Second City comedy, which I'm normally a huge fan of, was just plain bad. And the Legends show was solid, but not spectacular. However, there was a particular pianist at one of the bar/lounge areas that was phenomenal, and that's where we spent the better part of the entertainment at the cruise.
Food was another hit-or-miss area; the Manhattan Room was medicore quality food with mediocre service while the other dining room was better quality food, with service that ranged from average to phenomenal. (Props to Hennesey the waiter for the best dining experience on board - beyond excellent!) Unfortunately, NCL's FreeStyle dining just doesn't measure up to the traditional dining you find on other lines.
I hated the cabin. Having a curtain so that you can use the shower and restroom privately is a horrible design for a cabin layout. The beds are separated by a whole couple of inches. This isn't the way for two friends to travel together; you're literally crowded for space the entire time. Easily the worst cabin lay-out I've ever experienced.
