After many remarks about Carnival being the Wal-Mart of cruise ships and 8 cruises on Carnival, my husband, sister in law and brother in law and myself decided to try the Quantum of the Seas. The Quantum had so many experiences to try that we hadn't done.
The staterooms were not much different that our 6 other balcony staterooms, with the exception to the shower being much more cramped in the Quantum. ( We have never been on Carnival's largest ship). Maybe with the much higher costs, we expected more, however even at that our expectations were low we still would have been disappointed.
Some of the entertainment we miss for what ever reason, we spent way too much time in line to enjoy too much.
We purchased a balcony stateroom , for 3 days we could not use the balcony without warm blankets wrapped around us.(I know what do you expect booking a cruise porting from the north in March), we had no choice, if we wanted this itinerary on this ship we had to port out of Bayonne.
Check in was almost the smoothest we have had, taxi from Hotel to ship was excellent, we had trouble finding willing transportation and it was expensive to get there.
