My sister and I cruised on the Norwegian Star on March 17, 2015; destination Cabo San Lucas. It was my first cruise, her second, and it was not a great experience for either of us.

Let's see, where to begin. When trying to board the ship, the entry was so backed up that when taking the escalator to the entrance, people were slammed into each other because of the crowd at the entry and no way to turn off the escalator; painful. Once on board, our ship didn't get going until 45 minutes after its scheduled time. When we first got on the ship we walked into our hot cabin to find there was no AC. It was broken on my side of the ship; 3 of our neighbor cabins were also complaining about no AC. We spoke to 3 different employees to ask what was going on, and each one gave us a confused look with a "I'll check on it" response. We did not have our AC working until 8pm. That's an entire day that we paid for a non working room and were offered no compensation; not even a note of apology. Oh, and somewhere between dropping off my suitcase at the terminal, and having it delivered to my room, it got a big rip in it.

Being so hot, we decided to head to the pool; I've stayed at hotels with a bigger pool. And only half of the hot tubs were filled with water, so of course the ones that were available were packed.

NO AC the first day! Horribly hot!

Port Reviews

Los Angeles

Too many people boarding at once and we were slammed between the crowd and the escalator with no off switch at the top. This kept happening over and over and no employees attempted to fix the problem.
