I decided to book a cruise for my wife and myself two days after we got married. We drove from Arizona to Los Angeles and stayed at the Best Western in Wilmington which was about 10 minutes with traffic from the port. The hotel staff was friendly and extremely helpful and the breakfast was very good as well. My wife and I were able to leave our car at the Best Western for free, which was nice, and then take a cab for about $20 down to the port. This Best Western was also considerably cheaper than other hotels closer to the port.

The ship that my wife and I sailed on was the Norwegian Star. It was incredible, I do not think that we could have asked for anything more. There were plenty of activities offered to keep us busy and allow us to have a great time. My wife and I loved the game shows like "deal or no deal" or "the Newlywed game". Though we had to pay a small amount for "deal or no deal" it was completely worth the fun.

The service was the best that we had ever had anywhere! I wish that everywhere we went had the same kind of service that Norwegian gave us. From the moment that we got to the curbside we had helpful individuals talking with us and guiding us in where to go. On board everyone was very quick, kind and helpful knowing what to do or who to call in every situation we encountered. They were always very quick and diligent in cleaning our room and were very personal when talking with us, making us feel as if we mattered to them. In the dining rooms the waiters/waitresses were quick to refill our waters and brought the food quickly and always extremely well done. In addition to this, there was also a great variety of food to choose from and many different dining areas which to enjoy it in.

The cabin was everything we wanted and more and having the balcony made the trip that much better. I don't know if we will ever be able to take another cruise without having a balcony room.
