After going on a cruise on the NCL Breakaway when it was new, we couldn't wait to go on the NCL Getaway, since it is the same ship (with some changes in decoration to match the Miami theme). We were happy to basically go on the same ship twice since there are so many things to do on this ship. There are a lot of entertainment options, and there are far more dining options than you will have time for in 7 days. Just as on the Breakaway, the food was terrific. As always, Le Bistro shines as the best restaurant on the ship. All of the food is terrific, whether you are at on of the included restaurants or a specialty restaurant. Burn the Floor was the best show, Legally Blonde was all right, and we wish we passed on Illusionarium (since it was very cheesy and the magic tricks weren't interesting). Howl at the Moon was fun entertainment too, though the entertainers seemed to have a lot more energy at the beginning of the cruise than towards the end of the week. Service overall was pretty good, but the all-stars were our massage therapists at the spa. Best couples massage experience ever, since the NCL Breakaway that is. The fireworks show is terrific, amenities were amazing, the ship is beautiful, and overall, we felt like we were on the best ship in the Caribbean.

We went on the NCL excursion Magen's Bay Beach & Downtown Shopping, and we really enjoyed it. The transportation to the beautiful beach and the fun downtown shopping area really helped to maximize our time in St. Thomas. We wish we were able to do the beach in the afternoon, instead of first thing in the morning though since it was raining in the morning. We booked our excursions through Shore Excursions Group for St. Maarten and Nassau. We enjoyed Orient Bay in St. Maarten (Marigot was disappointing) and we loved snorkeling in the Bahamas. It was a great trip, and we wish the vacation was even longer than 7 days. We can't wait until our next NCL cruise.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony Stateroom

Cabin BB

Our cabin was in a terrific location, just a floor or two from all the action. The balcony is terrific for enjoying the view. We had plenty of space for our things.

Be advised - You might want to avoid booking a balcony room toward the front of the ship on decks 8 through 10, because people on the boardwalk might be able to see your balcony and you won't have much privacy.
