This was only my second cruise, I'd cruised on the Norweigen Sky before, for a 3 day cruise 3 years ago. I loved the norweigen sky. this cruise, was for a friend/co-workers birthday. i read alot of reviews regarding the ship to prepare myself for our 4 day cruise. I was prepared for how old the ship looked, i knew it was an older ship, so i wasnt too alarmed by the rust and outdated areas.
Our room was an interior state room, on the riveria level. it was aft. i'd read reviews of interior rooms, and to bring night lights b/c it would be dark, and no where to put anything, we actually had plenty of room, lots of lighting everywhere. a couple of tv stations, most of the news stations were miami news stations, so i was caught up on miami news.
i read a few reviews that mentioned that this was a small ship, so you would more likely be seasick, were absolutely correct. the other 3 members of my party all experienced seasickness the 1st day, for me, it bothered me, but i wasn't completly miserable. it didnt hit me until the last day. it was a combination of the seafood pasta and the rocking motion, that i ended up very nauseated the last night, and did vomit. the other members of my crew did vomit the first day.
port of new orleans was fine, we parked in the fulton street parking, very quick service pick up and drop off at the port. no issues checking in or checking out
