We are a married couple. She's 33, I'm 39. My 3rd cruise (Carnival Conquest & Norwegian Jewel), her 1st. Honeymoon trip. Concierge Class. 10th level. Cabin 1176.

Pre-cruise stay.

We stayed at the Ft. Lauderdale Holiday Inn on 1150 State Road for one night pre-cruise. The hotel picked us up in a shuttle (no charge but I tipped the driver a couple of dollars for our bags) and drove us to the hotel. It took about 15 minutes to get from the airport to the hotel. Call the hotel once you have picked up your bags and they will dispatch the shuttle. Note: there are 2 Holiday Inns on this road and I am reviewing the one at 1150 State. Free hot and cold breakfast. Excellent. The next morning the hotel shuttle took us to the port (again no charge but I tipped the driver a couple of bucks for our bags). Drive took about 10 minutes. The shuttle to the port started taking cruisers at 10 a.m. and left every 30 minutes after that. It's important to have your passport ready and in hand while on the shuttle because you won't be allowed into the port area without it. Paid $135 for our stay. I highly recommend this as a pre-cruise hotel.
