Let me start by saying that the thing that made this cruise the best was the wonderful people we met onboard and online because of Cruise Critic and RCI. All the research and helpful people on these boards made everything so much easier and I have recommended this site to all i can.

ARRIVAL IN SAN JUAN was very good. Airport was not crowded, we arrived the day before sailing and got a hotel thru priceline, with the help of the San Juan board. We stayed that the El San Juan and had a wonderful dinner at Pamela's restaurant.

SATURDAY, DAY ONE: We headed to the pier around 11:30, dropped of the rental car and was shuttled to the pier. I think we arrived a little after 12. We walked right up to the check in counters, had our set sail forms and we were on the ship within 20 min. Walked around checking out the ship, where our table was for dinner, we were at table 401, which is in the corner, debating on asking to change, but thought we would be ok (which we were) Went up to check out room around 1:00. We had room 9584 a D1 cabin on the hump. This is what I had read was a good cabin and we were not disappointed. I did not feel the room was a "closet" as some say. We felt we had plenty of room for the time we were in the room. The bathroom is small, but has all the necessities and even the shower was fine. We never noticed any odor, as I forgot about this till after we were home. We took things out of the mini fridge and put our bottled water in that we brought on, also had a few bottles of soda. Plenty of closet space and drawers. Luggage fit under the bed with no problems. Balcony was wonderful. Went on the spa tour and decided to book the $99 couples special for later in the week. Checked out a couple of bars and lounges and by 4:30 we had our luggage. Changed and went to dinner, great table mates and waiters Mimi and Alvin did a wonderful job all week. Muster drill was at 8PM. We met in the Schooner Bar, waited for about 15 minutes for everyone to arrive, then listened to the drill. After the drill we stayed at the bar for an extra 15 to allow the crowd to clear. Then took the jackets back to room and headed to the welcome show and comedian. First nights show was very good.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D1

Cabin #9584. Great room. Bigger than we thought it would be. Plenty of closet space. And amazingly quiet. I never sleep in hotel, due to noise and never heard anything any of the nights. I don't know how the keep everything so sound proof!! Great balcony location.
