To give some background, I must tell you that I LOVE CRUISING. I have cruised approximately 20 times before this cruise on the Carnival Triumph. Since I used to live in Miami, I started on 3 and 4 day cruises, then eventually stepped up to longer cruises. I have been on RCCL, NCL, Holland America, Eastern Steamship, Celebrity, Costa, and Crystal as well as a river cruise last year with Uniworld, but I had never gone on Carnival primarily due to its reputation as the ship for kids. This time we were going with the whole family including five children ages 9 months to 14 years old.

Even though, Carnival says it is trying to changing its image from the "fun ships" and has even put in the most stringent rules in the industry for young adults and teenagers traveling alone, this cruise gave no indication that Carnival has succeeded in that transition.

There were children everywhere and the noise level in the public areas and in the hallways on the cabins decks was LOUD. There were lots of activities for kids, but not near as many for adults as I have found on other ships. I spoke with several passengers who were huge fans of Carnival and asked what other cruise lines they had sailed. The vast majority had never tried another cruise line and those that had mostly had sailed on RCCL and preferred Carnival.

Cabin Review

Cabin 11

Loved the bathroom with its whirlpool tub. Nice bedding with top notch down pillows.
