We booked this cruise directly through RCI and then made our own arrangements for airfare and hotel accommodation. We always find that this is a much cheaper way to travel but we usually try to fly in a day early.

We stayed overnight in Barcelona at the Sunotel Central. It was clean, comfortable and about 15 minutes walk from Placa Catalunya. At night we had dinner at Quinze Nits, which we thoroughly enjoyed. There is a website for anyone interested enough in getting some more information about this restaurant in one of Barcelona's main squares.

We arrived at the port at 11.45. It was reasonably busy but we were on board by 12.15 courtesy of the Platinum boarding process. Our inside stateroom was ready for us by 1.00. We were a little anxious about being cramped but there was sufficient storage space and plenty of room to move around. The bed was huge and very comfy. We felt a balcony would have been a waste of money on this cruise as the weather was cooler and the ports are mostly industrial areas. Our room steward Rica was the best we've ever had. Her cheery voice greeted us every day and our cabin was spotlessly and promptly cleaned. I miss her already!

Comfy bed (very), lots of storage, quiet location.
