Review of Norwegian Star 9/27/08 Sailing
This review is geared toward those who have never sailed on NCL before, those who haven't sailed NCL on the Mexican Riviera before, those haven't been on NCL for a long time, and those who've never cruised at all. I've been 5 cruises altogether, 3 of which were on HAL; DW has been on 3 cruises, 2 HAL, 1 NCL. This was my and my wife's first NCL cruise.
Embarkation: The signage and instructions we received at the cruise terminal regarding where to drop off baggage and park were both wanting, so I'll start by providing some information about getting to the terminal and parking, which could be useful to those who've never cruised out of San Pedro, CA. If you are coming from the north, the cruise terminal is easily reached by taking the southbound I-110 (a.k.a. Harbor Fwy.). Just get off at Harbor Blvd. and then go straight through the intersection and turn right once past the intersection. Then loop around toward the pier 92/93 sign, drop off your bags at 93, then keep going all the way through the loop and once out go around the building at the end and turn right where it says Catalina Cruises or something along those lines. Then just get your parking tag and look for parking. The farther from the terminal, the more likely you are to find a spot.
