For our 1st ever cruise which was a birthday surprise for my wife I decided on the Caribbean. Was not sure if she could take the long flight. After having a some turbulence on the way over we were happy to get on the ground and more that glad not to have to go through customs, but straight on a bus and straight to the ship. Overwhelmed by the size. getting on board was a breeze, no hassle, unlike the queuing you go through at the airports. Cabins were more than adequate for there purpose, as you only used them to get dressed and sleep in. Dressing up for dinner was a joy for us both as it was a gentle reminder of regimental dinners from an earlier time, meeting like minded people at meal times was also a bonus. The onboard facilities were very good and the trips were well worth the money, unlike a package holiday there was no pressure on board to take them. The entertainment was for the most of the cruise was very good quality and mixed. Our only minus was on the day of departure when you get the feeling you are no longer part of the ship, but that is the same on any holiday. One of the bonuses about cruising is the value for money. When you consider the many different places you visit and to visit them all separately, the cost would be very high. We are looking forward to our next one which is in 11 weeks time again to the Caribbean with friends on the same ship.
