The cruise was fine as we try to look at the overall good of the 11 days. I did hear a lot of griping about various things on the ship but we did not run into that particular problem so I will not comment about that. Once, at one of the cover charge dining areas, East Meets West, me and another person did not have their steak done right and we had it sent back and cooked right. They apologized for it. Once or twice, our servers would not check on us in the Seven Seas dining area to see if our food was okay but the food we received was good and very hot. Our room stewards, Lukman Nasrullah & Qumaruddin Fnu were just there. They cleaned as they had to. We usually tip extra to our room stewards but they did not go over and beyond. The last day of our trip, we had run up to eat breakfast and when I came back to my cabin at 8:00 am, my personal items were taken out of the bathroom and laid out on the desk area. I had until 9:00 am to vacate and they "kicked us out" which made us feel very unwelcomed as paying customers. The cleaning crew for the cabins were hurriedly trying to get ready for the next group of cruisers. I felt shuffled out too quickly from my room. The laundry service wasn't very good as we put a rush on a dress shirt for my husband for the first dress-up night and he didn't get it. They took off the slight fee for the rush job but we had to chase down our laundry both times and try to figure out where it was. We felt we shouldn't have had to do that. The activities listed in the Freestyle Daily were sometimes not even an activity that existed. 6 of us went to the casino for the activity and to get a free rum punch and to learn how to play casino games and this wasn't offered and the casino blamed the front desk, and the front desk blamed the cruise director. One guy woke up from his nap to participate and we never did get that darn rum punch. The thing is there were other activities that weren't going on, either. This happened several times. Once during trivia everyone waited 10 minutes past the time it was to start and we finally asked what was going on. Someone was sick and no one knew about it. This happened a few times with not getting an activity that was offered. This is the worse ship I have been on regarding the activity portion of it. We never had trouble on Royal Caribbean or Carnival with activities being offered and then being told by the Norwegian Sun, no, they don't do that activity and then make excuses for why they don't do it. The woman at the service desk never apologized and didn't care that we were upset over the activity not being offered. Our experience on the Norwegian Sun is the worse ever on activities not being offered that are printed in their Freestyle Daily. It was very frustrating to go all over the ship for the activity and then find out it wasn't being offered or someone was late or sick and no one would show up and then a crew member would have to run from another activity and try to do that activity for us in a hurry. My husband loved the freestyle dining and the more relaxed way of freestyle cruising. The ship is more informal in the look and design of it and not as fancy as Royal Caribbean or Carnival. It was very clean and the staff seemed to work hard at keeping it presentable. Most of the staff tried to be accommodating. There were just a handful of the crew that just didn't seem to want to apologize or go over and beyond and be more understanding. The majority of the crew members did try to accommodate the public and I know dealing with the public constantly, hourly and daily, can be trying. Some people gripe no matter what and we did hear that once a while. We heard a guy yelling because he didn't want to put in a corner in a dining area and it wasn't a corner and he could still see out of the window the lovely view. He went running back up to the front of the dining area saying, "I don't want to be in a corner". The majority of the crew was usually very serviceable on trying to make people happy in us having a pleasant vacation time. Overall, the cruise was fine for us and we enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony

Cabin BA

Great view. Great Balcony. The cabin cleaning crew just did the basic cleaning. Nothing over and beyond. First time we never tipped over the designated tip.
