We are 61 and 60 years of age. We do much research prior to our cruises and prefer to tour ports either on our own or in small private tours. When on our own, we try to see one or two "highlights" and then just wander, stop at a cafe, and enjoy "being there". We have previously cruised on Princess, Celebrity, and Holland. This was our first time on RCCL. We have done 3 previous European cruises and chose this one for the itinerary, which can be very tiring if you try to see "everything".

Pre Cruise: We had previously visited Rome. We flew in early to spend 2 nights adjusting to the time change, and see some sites we missed on our previous visit. We had RomeCabs meet us at airport and take us to B&B Giovy (review of this is on TripAdvisor). Staying here turned out to be a great experience.

Port Transfer: We shared a ride with 6 others, using RomeCabs. We did a couple of hours touring on the way to port, and stopped at the hilltop village of Ceri for a very nice family style lunch. Total cost for this was less than 2 simple bus ride ship transfers. Enjoyable day and arrived at port about 2:30. Easy embarkation. Not crowded, no lines. The Ship: Legend of the Seas is in good condition and a comfortable size. Crew is always cleaning. Service throughout the cruise was very good. Chose inside cabin on deck 7 (2 floors up to Windjammer/pool deck: 3 floors down to dining and shows). Ate all breakfasts and 2 dinners in Windjammer. Good variety and pleasant. Dining room food was "hit and miss". Wonderful service and presentation. We thought food was on par with Princess. Had a table for 11 and enjoyed our table mates, some of whom we toured with in ports. We thought all of the musical performers in the lounge areas were good, but did not think much of the shows in the theater (maybe we have seen too many). But we did not select this cruise for the entertainment.

Cabin Review

Superior Interior Stateroom

Cabin J

We chose this cabin for its location which was good. Only negative was the sound of a ship dishwasher (?) above us which we heard a couple of nights. Other than that, o complaints. Plenty of storage space and decent sized bathroom (for a ship).
