Travelling with my adult daughter could have been complicated, but thanks to RCCL it was great. We are both professionals, previous cruisers, however, our first with RCCL. We both enjoy the relaxation that a cruise can offer. Leaving from Port Canaveral was a breeze. It probably only took us 20 minutes by the time we were dropped off at the port until we were in our cabin. They were more efficient than I imagined. We booked a junior suite. The space was great, it had a lot of storage area, which impressed me and a walk in closet. Imagine, on a ship, a walk in closet. Our room steward was great, he immediately introduced himself, and was always near by when we needed him. Thank you to Romeo. He kept the room clean and organized and the ice bucket full. We booked two excursions. The one in St. Thomas was through the cruise line, and a private tour in St. Maarten. In St. Thomas, Connor, was driver of the safari type bus. He took us all over the island, several stops along the way for pictures, and even to the beach at the end. He was wonderful, knowledgeable. We really enjoyed it. In St. Maarten, we booked a private tour, and I recommend her highly. Her name was Joyce, she is fabulous, contact her at Joyce@PrincePersonal.com. She was not only knowledgeable about the island on which she lives, took us wherever we wanted. She let us shop, go to the beach, or just talk to her while she was driving. By the end of the cruise, I felt like I had made a friend. I would contact her again if I were to go again. She is a wealth of knowledge, pleasant and trustworthy. The Mariner of the Seas is the most beautiful cruise ship that I have ever seen. The captain is cheery, and approachable and really sets the tone of the trip. We did not go to many of the shows, but did see the ice show. The skaters were good, and the show was terrific. It must be hard for them as the rink is not regulation size. So we were impressed. The dining is still not my favorite. I do not like to sit in the dining room with people that I do not know at my table. This is just my own personal issue and my daughter's also. So we ate mostly at the buffet, when we were not in the specialty dining rooms. And are they great. We went to both of them and they equally as good. It would be nicer if the cruise ship could offer either more tables for 2 or an "anytime dining" concept. I cannot say enough about the staff in the Windjammer. They are all so friendly and met all of our needs. The highlight of the ship is the Promenade. It is the best thing that a cruise ship can offer. It really makes a big difference. The Cafe Promenade was a great place to grab a sandwich or a sweet, and drink coffee. And the star of the Cafe is Neto. He is funny and attentive, and I felt like I made a new friend. The ironic thing about this trip, was that my daughter was never interested in a large ship cruise, she called them "mass market". Now she is hooked and does not want to go back to the smaller ships. As large as this ship is, I never felt I was in a crowd, there is a lot of quiet areas inside and outside on the decks. We are planning another cruise for next year on RCCL.

Cabin Review

Junior Suite

Junior Suite was large, roomy, plenty of storage, walk in closet. The amount of storage available is quite a surprise.
