We were a group of four that sailed from Barcelona the beginning of September for a 12 night cruise ending in Venice. It was nice to board the ship and have a full night in port, before setting sail. Therefore the boarding process was very relaxed and well organized. I think it took all of 10 minutes from arrival at the pier to being in our cabin, now that is almost unheard of.
The cabin was traditional of HAL. Size was good. Clean. Although the picture in our cabin had a huge crack across the entire frame. You never knew if the glass was going to fall out (attention to detail). The bathroom was clean, although it always had a faint odor. The balcony furniture was great. Overall we were satisfied with the cabin.
The Spa was very good. We took advantage of the Thermal/Hydropool package for the 12 days. Great value. The spa change room was clean however their were no extra amenities available (no creams, lotions, shaving items, etc.)...it was pretty bare bones. Although it was clean. Our friend was quite upset that on three occasions, a male attendant entered the women's change room to clean, even with her in the change room. Luckily on both occasions she was either in a robe or clothed. He didn't seem to be bothered.
