My partner and I are 43 and 46 years of age from Atlanta Georgia. This was our 6th cruise and our second with NCL . We were on the Star in February. We have been on Carnival twice in Europe. We have always enjoyed our cruises and just love cruising as our vacation! We flew over 2 days early and stayed one night in London and one night in Southampton since we had never been to England. We found the British people to be so friendly and helpful without exception. We just loved the people and the history. We took a National Express bus to Southampton the night before our cruise and stayed at the De Vere Grand Harbor which was fine.I was able to get a decent rate I but I wouldn't say its a great value, just ok. Embarkation was just perfect. We were greeted with smiling faces and such friendly people. (what can I say,the Brits made an impression on me!)We were escorted to our room with our champagne in hand and in our room in 10-15 minutes after we arrived. The cabin was wonderful! It was a nice size, with a nice big flat screen TV and a nice size balcony. We put our bags down and went to Cagney's for lunch. This was our first time having a suite and we loved it. The bed was extremely comfortable. with upgraded linens and pillows. We also enjoyed being able to make our own drinks in our room before dinner. (I ordered the bar set up) The food was excellent for the most part. I loved the special breakfasts and lunches in Cagney's for the suite passengers. We loved Le Bistro for the food (which is excellent (get the lamb))The main dining room was also very good. A few nights we had a slow server but really nothing too bad. The staff from the waiters to the reception desk is wonderful. The have a hard job and of course some people are harder to please than others! We had a great room steward and our butler Henry was great! We didn't utilize him too much ,but on a few early morning excursionswe had breakfast in our suite and twice after all day excursions he brought us dinner in our suite. We took 2 excursions through the ship. We had booked more, but after our Lisbon excursion we felt like taking it a little less intense and be able to relax more. So we did the other ports on our own. We did take a ships tour in Malaga which was much more relaxed than Lisbon. The ports on this cruise were awesome. Disembarkation was just as easy. In summary we want to than NCL as a whole each person we came in contact with from the reservation process to the people who took care of us on the ship to eventhe tour operators were absolutely professional and caring. They made us feel very welcome and comfortable. Ncl does a great job! I can't wait for our next cruise with NCL (No, I don't work for them! I just think a company that does what they promise needs to be recognized and applauded)
