I am in my 40`s and this is my 10th cruise. My Mom is in her 60`s and uses a cane. This is her first cruise since the 1970`s. It is my first time cruising with Princess. I have sailed with N.C.L. , R.C.L. and Holland America.

We hit some traffic driving from S.I. to the Brooklyn Pier(30 min.total). We arrived at the pier at 11:30 am on 9-7-08 and were on board by 12:30pm.We opted for a wheelchair so Mom did not have to deal with her carry on and cane. The attendant took us right to our cabin. We dropped off our luggage and called reservations #6219.It rang for a while. When answered ,I made a request to be considered for the Chefs Table. We then went to the Lido Dk 15 to make reservations for Sabatini`s($20pp) and Sterlings($15pp). Monday and Friday are formal nights and if picked the Chefs table is Wednesday night so we made our alternate dinning reservations on other nights(Tue.&Thur.). We then went to the Coral Dinning room(only open till 1 p.m.) on Dk 6 Fiesta (use elevators in center of ship). We spotted people from Cruise Critics and had a lovely lunch together. (.Food reviews will be included at the end of this review.)We also met other CC members at an informal at 3 p.m at Outriggers and a formal Meet & Greet on Monday attended by the Head of Hotel manager Mr Deering. I would like to thank him for being very helpful and informative.

I love the way Princess does their "General Emergency Station drill" (4:15p.m.). We comfortably sat in our designated lounge, listened- put vests on -then left. Very efficient!
