My mom, cousin and I sailed on Enchantment of the Seas 9-Aug through 14-Aug-2008. Overall it was an awesome cruise. I have been on 7 cruises, 5 with RCCL and this was definitely one of the best. I'll break the review down into parts for easy reference.

Pre-Cruise: We arrived in Ft. Lauderdale the day prior to the cruise and stayed at the Harbor Beach Marriott. It is a beautiful hotel, right on the beach, and best of all if you get up early enough you can see the Enchantment Arrive! I did! I like to arrive the day prior so I'm not rushed and arrive at the pier relaxed.

Embarkation: We arrived at Port Everglades at around 11:30 AM and were very quickly attended to as soon as our luggage hit the pavement. We were given our luggage tags, filled them out and set off for the check in lounge. It was the most efficient luggage service we have ever experiences. We had our Set Sail documents ready, and moved quickly through the line to get our sea pass cards. We were then directed to a large boarding area. Although we were suite guests (GS) we were not directed to special lounge they way were had been on our past cruises. This was a little disappointing, but not an issue because by noon we were already on our way to board the ship, and were taking our welcoming aboard photo. I like the way the photo was taken for this trip. In the past we have had the picture taken right before the gangway, but for this cruise they had a nice background screen set up out of the way, and those who did not want the picture could easily pass by. Of course I wanted the picture, but for those who did not, it helped move things along. By 12:15 we were on board and went to the Windjammer to get something to eat. The buffet was typically nice. We relaxed by the pool and by 1:00 pm were in our GS. Our luggage arrived very early around 2 pm. The muster drill was typical, although for some reason it did not seem as much of a "cattle call" as on my past cruises. We then enjoyed sail away in the Royal Suite with friends we met through Cruise Critic. Grand Suite: We stayed in GS8532. The suite was very nice. I liked the large couch that wrapped around by the bar. The updated bedding is very nice and the pull out sofa was respectably comfortable and large enough for an adult. There was plenty of closet space for 3 people and our empty suitcases fit under the beds. The bathroom was typical, large with a double sink and tub. It could use a face lift. The panel in front of the tub was falling off and there were some rust stains on it. Also the water in bathroom was slightly brown in color and the hot water never got really hot. Other than the bathroom the room looked relatively well maintained, with no stains on the carpet or furniture. The balcony was large and the glass panels allowed for great viewing. We were on AOS and the balconies did not have the glass panels so the view was not as good. The location of the GS on this ship was ok but not perfect. It was near the forward elevator which was nice. The Windjammer was directly above us, which was good and bad. It was convenient to run to the windjammer to get coffee and a quick bite to eat, but be warned that it does get noisy early in the morning. It sounded like they moving large carts around the floors. This goes on for about ½ hour around 5 am. We received a lovely plate of sweets and fruit upon arrival, we also got treats on formal night and the last night. We also received some special gifts and of course had access to concierge lounge.
