Highlights of the trip: -Excellent service -Food was always good, sometimes very good, though very rich. I eat pretty healthy at home, and got a little tired of greasy eggs in the morning. -Cabin was comfortable, and very roomy. Balcony had an excellent view. -Ports were timely and everything was on schedule with little or no delays.

Drawbacks: -We were placed in a handicap-accessible suite right near the front of the ship, so our "Privacy Please" sign kept blowing off our door. This caused a room steward to come in at VERY inopportune time, and we were quite embarrassed as the door doesn't close quickly. There was a fair bit of noise from folks going past our door to the front of the ship, and our door whistled horribly in the wind, even after we called maintenance to fix it. -Very tacky decor -For some reason, guests were very rude on this ship, I caught people on numerous occasions putting their hands into the food instead of using tongs, pushing me around in the pool, crowding me out of elevators. Our cruise was with 11 other family members, and we were not interested in breaking the bank with shore excursions and other expenses since we are early career.

Civitavecchia: Arrived July 20 in the afternoon, and stayed at the Holiday Inn West. Not the best hotel, and continental breakfast isn't even included in the base room rate. Free shuttle to and from Rome was helpful though, so we got see some of Rome before leaving for the boat the next day. We used Roma Shuttle, http://www.romashuttle.com/, for transport from the Holiday Inn to the ship. They were very prompt and much cheaper than the Carnival Transfers.

Cabin Review

Cabin 6

Cabin is right in front of doorway to front of ship, and our "Privacy Please" sign blew off the door at a very inopportune time, and the room steward opened up our accessible door which couldn't be closed quickly because it was automatic. Needless to say it was very embarassing!
