This was my 6th Royal Caribbean Cruise. I (40) sailed with my 18 and 14 year old nieces. July 28 - Aug 1.
We arrived in Miami the afternoon before our cruise. We got a taxi and arrived at the Holiday Inn Port of Miami around 4 pm. Just as reviews had said, when we got there, there were a few shady people hanging out in front. But they stepped aside for us no problem. Check-in was easy. Desk clerk was nice enough. Our room was kinda yucky. Outdated furniture, worn stained carpet. Beds seemed clean, as well as bathroom, but it just had a yucky feel to the whole place. Granted, for one night, it did the trick, and I would prob stay there again for the price & location.
Monday morning we grabbed a taxi out front and were at the ship by 10 a.m., we couldn't go inside as they were still disembarking. At 11 a.m, we went inside and after check-in we were in the Windjammer by 12:15. No problems checking in; line moved fairly quickly.
