Our family of 6 from Florida are seasoned cruisers, having been on RCI on three previous occasions. This was our first trip on Voyager of the Seas, but having cruised on Mariner of the Seas, we knew it was very similar. We booked three cabins, all with balconies on level 8.

We spent 3 days before the cruise in Barcelona, which I would highly recommend to both adjust to the time change, as well as to tour this wonderful city. We booked a tour with Jose from Pepito Tours, and it was very good. Jose is knowledgeable, unflappable and speaks excellent English.

Boarding VOS was easy as we had Set Sail passes. The ship is very nice and the cabins are well appointed. The best parts of the cruise experience on VOS are the ports. The service and meals were not up to what we had previously had on RCI. The service, with few exceptions from some dedicated staff, was no better than businesslike, and at times bordered on brusque and rude. The menu at dinner was neither innovative nor fresh, and did not even try to celebrate the port or country we had visited. Also, the entertainment was only so-so. The best shows were those with the RCI troupe and the ice skaters. Everything else was very mediocre.
