We had a family of 10 going on this once in a lifetime trip for my DH parents. They had dreamed all their lives about going to Alaska and this was it. I went with my DH parents, sister and two brothers and of course my family, DH and three teenage kids.

It was less expensive for our large group to fly from DFW to Seattle and rent two vans and drive to Vancouver on Friday prior to leaving. We had a nice drive to Vancouver and got in a little site seeing that evening. It was very easy for us to drop off our rental car at the Canada Place pier prior to the ships departure.

I had been on one other cruise on RC so was somewhat familiar with cruising. After reading many posts on CC about this cruise I was concerned about the ship. From the minute I stepped onboard the Diamond I was impressed. I have to say, check in at the dock was a breeze and handled very well. The ship was beautiful. Definitely a step above the prior cruise I had been on. One thing that really impressed me was the staff. Everywhere we went there was a smiling face and a nice "hello". It definitely made me feel welcome. I have to say the staff was the best part of the cruise!
