This was our 5th cruise, but our first with Princess and our first of the Mexican Riviera. We have previously sailed with Royal Caribbean, Carnival, and NCL.
The ship was beautiful. It has been referred to as "old" but it was a good as any new ship I've been on. This is a nice, not too many passengers, yet enough activity and public spaces. It was easy to move around this ship.
The food was okay but not spectacular. Cruises seem to be more about quantity than quality, although I never had a bad meal and I certainly didn't starve! If you are a gourmet, do not complain if the food isn't up to your high standards. For the rest of us, it was good. Room service was also good.
