I flew in from Maryland to meet my friend who lives in Hollywood, FL. This worked out great because I didn't have to spend additional money on a hotel. We were excited to go on the cruise since this was our first time ever on a cruise ship.
We purchased our tickets about three weeks before our sail date and judging from the price of cruise tickets for later dates, we knew we didn't get that good a deal, however we were excited to take the vacation. I read about fifty member reviews about the Majesty of the Seas because I wanted to prepare myself for the cruise; those reviews were exceptionally helpful.
We arrived at the Port at about 1.30pm; from reviews, I learnt that it wasn't really worth while to arrive early. The line was long, however it was moving. We went through immigration very fast and found ourselves inside the ship. We were welcomed by one of the cruise directors who was from Australia (I forget his name). Because we didn't have to check-in any bags, we quickly walked through the crowd and located our room on deck 5. The room looked small, but it was workable; my friend and I had no plans of staying long in the room.
