First of all, I'd like to say that this was another fantastic trip on Princess. Overall, they do a super job. We were on the Star in January so the ship was very familiar to us. We have sailed on 14 cruises, most recently on HAL, Celebrity and Princess.
We arrived in Seattle the night before and stayed at the Sea-Tac Courtyard where they arranged private transportation to the pier the next morning. We always go at least one day early to lessen our chance of missing the ship due to flight delays. We got to the ship around 11 a.m., and were on board by noon. We went to the Horizon Court for lunch. We only eat in the buffet when nothing else is available as we do not find it very good & the embarkation lunch did not change our opinion. We did try the pizza during the cruise and it was very much improved from the pizza we had on the earlier cruise.
We had an aft facing cabin, which we love. It was great for viewing the scenery. Princess cabins are designed very well with adequate storage room. Our bed was comfortable. However, for some reason, a great deal of water accumulated at the balcony door and did not flow to the drain properly (or the drain was blocked). We reported this to our cabin steward but no correction was made. We were very concerned that this would greatly limit our scenic viewing when we went through Tracy Arm. However, our cabin steward became ill after the 2nd day, and his replacement, Denis, took care of it and we never had a problem with it again. In fact, Denis was the best cabin steward that we have ever had, even though his position with the ship was Accommodation Assistant or something like that, but not as high as Steward. He arose to the occasion, worked very hard, and helped tremendously to ensure that our cruise was a wonderful one.
Great balcony, quiet location, lots of storage, great configuration, comfortable bed
