Just myself 27 and hubby 29, 2nd cruise. Stayed in interior cabin on deck 3. We flew into San Francisco a few days before our cruise departure. First time to San Francisco, stayed in Fishermans Wharf area. We stayed at the Best Western Tuscan Inn, walking distance to cruise terminal. Hotel offers free delivery of luggage to cruise ship. We got in line before 2pm, lines were very long and took quite sometime. This could be better, it took us a little over 2 hrs to get on ship. We had enough time to eat at the Windjammer before safety procedures. We felt like the youngest couple on ship, it seemed over 95% of people were over 60 years of age. Many being from other countries like Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Germany, Austria. Rarely ever saw young couples or children. Shipped left late, not all supplies had been delivered on time by 5pm. It was a beautiful site to leave San Francisco, especially going under the Golden Gate Bridge. The next day the sea was very rough all day on Sunday. Many had to take pills, including myself. Stayed in cabin all day and did not eat, waves were 15 - 21 feet high and the ship was rocking. We stayed in the 3 deck which was perfect, the lower and more middle you are on the ship the less movement. Our cabin was perfect size and our Steward Marshall from Costa Rica was very friendly and did his best. Our refrigerator kept items cool, not cold. Our TV kept playing the same shows and episodes over and over. We always ate breakfast at the Windjammer. The fruit was excellent, very tasty (watermelon, melon, cantaloupe, grapes, strawberries, pineapple, prunes). My hubby always enjoyed an omelette or eggs to his taste. The coffee always tasted burnt and the orange juice was always room temperature. The food was always the same but good. An assortment of pastries, scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, sometimes ham or turkey, pre-frozen pancakes, pre-frozen french toast, assortment of cereals. Windjammer very crowded in the morning and lunch time, people would not leave after eating but sit and read. Multiple times we shared table with strangers. Lunch was good too. Again the fruit was just wonderful, I believe I was told allot was picked up in Seattle. We mainly ate personal size pizzas, the crust was there for you to add your own toppings and you take to cook to run thru oven. Places we ported at.

San Francisco, CA - Love it, had the best clam chowder ever. Took City Tour, we both enjoyed it very much.

Astoria, OR - small but beautiful sites from top of hill. Ate great Italian food downtown.
