Everything was misleading from start to finish. There were alot of fees that was unexpected. Coming into New York was a little hectic and expensive to park. Boarding the ship took a couple of hours. Very friendly staff at first, but quickly learned the hospitality only lasted along with your tipping. According to brochure, gratuity of ten dollars per person per day was already added. Someone must have forgot to tell staff this. They worked according to how much personal tipping you did. So if you're rich you should always have prompt and friendly service. Our state room was about the same size of a jail cell. We also realized it was alot like living in cheap apartments due to all the jumping and running from the room above. Later found out parents were aloud to shove there kids in one stateroom while they stayed in another. The kids and teens on the boat were way out of control. Kids were unsupervised and constantly running under your feet in dining areas and where alcohol was being served.(there's nothing worst than being drunk on a dance floor ,in a lounge and have kids running around your feet). There should be age restrictions in certain areas of the boat. The food was like flipping a coin; some was good, some was crap. There was only one freestyle restaurant which was raffles a buffet. The rest were dress codes and cover charge restaurants.(appox. $70 a couple)Noticed a lot of people tried to eat at buffet the whole trip to save on money and most of them were feeling sickish towards the end of trip. Some of the pub areas that served food were very limited on food items. I noticed you could not eat when you wanted and what you wanted like brochure said. Everything was on time schedules. For an example, I watched them make cheeseburgers at 10am. Asked for one and was told they were only serving breakfast that I would have to wait til lunch at 11am. It blew my mind that I paid the money I did for freestyle and had to watch my cheeseburger get cold before they would serve it. Room service only offered a handful of items also. Ordering your food was very entertaining at times due to most of staff not speaking fluent english. Excursions were a joke. 2nd day tried to book one and found out most of them were taken. Once again I felt mislead by pretty brochure. The Islands were beautiful. We had to wing it and had pretty good time but very stressful. We saved alot of money not doing NCL excursion,But did not have a lot of time to enjoy yourself due to very short time allowances off boat.I think the worst feeling is knowing your not getting your money's worth and still cannot leave until your nine days were up. I guess over all I'll chalk this one up as a loss and never book an NCL cruise again. I will definitely stick to all-inclusive resorts.
