Brief History I sit here ready to write my review of the wonderful Ryndam. I give my honest review only to be taken as my opinion, as I am sure my husbands may be a bit different than mine. Please cruise "critics" do not stone me if I have said something that you do not agree upon, as I will be very honest and open about our travels on the Ryndam April 15-25 2008.

A few details about us. We are loyal Holland Cruisers and are on the low side of the average age. My Husband is 45, and I am 41. We live in very Rural Wisconsin. So if I rank the food above average, remember our restaurants in the area are not 5 star. We have been married for 20 years and have 4 children, which we left behind. When we cruise as a couple we look forward to quiet time as a couple, to talk about the past and what lies ahead in our future as we have very little time at home alone. So on with the review. Flights We flew out of Milwaukee on the day of the cruise and arrived in San Diego about 11:30 am. What a lovely little airport, it is very similar to ours in Milwaukee. We got our luggage very quickly and were off to the cabs. It cost about $16.00 from the port to the ship including tip. The ship was actually a stone throw away, but the taxi hit every light en route. Our return flight home left San Diego about 12:35 pm and we had plenty of time to make our flight. We got off the ship by 9:15 and were sitting at our gate by 10:00. We were nervous about our flights with all of the craziness in the air about flight cancellations, bankruptcies and mergers. But we had the travel insurance so we were at ease, thanks to the great advisement.

Embarkation We arrived at the pier, and we were whisked to drop our luggage by the porters and then to check in. The people were far more friendly than our other times we checked in. We couldn't walk fast enough to keep up and before we knew it we were on board. It took about 12 minutes from taxi to arriving on the ship. And again everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Upon stepping into the check in we immediately felt at home! I will honestly say that the Check in at San Diego was the greatest check in we ever experienced. Very welcoming, friendly and Fresh!
