Personal Background Information: I am a female in my late 40s, traveled with my mother age 68. I live in New Jersey, she lives in Canada
Travel To Port of Embarkation: This was my second cruise to Bermuda and my mothers first cruise. We drove from NJ to Manhattan. Breezed through the Lincoln Tunnel, but did hit some traffic on the East Highway (12th St) between 50th and 55th. Embarkation: Very smooth, on board with glass on champagne within 30 minutes of pier arrival
Stateroom: Mini suite was larger than expected with a lovely wall mural. Bathroom was a very good size with a tub and separate toilet area. It was clean and the curtain that divides the room came in handy when one of our party wanted to read late into the night. Ship Info: The Dawn is about 5 or 6 years old and is in good condition. Very clean and well designed. She compares favorably with the brand new NCL Gem. Dining: Ate at several restaurants. The buffet I give 4 stars, the main dining room only gets 2 stars. Le Bistro is a surcharge restaurant and deserves five stars. Bamboo is a pay restaurant and I would give it 3.5 stars. Salsas is a free restaurant and I rate that one at 4 stars. Room service was prompt and quality was good. Staff Service: Exceptional, our room stewards were friendly and professional. Wait staff across the ship was great. Spa massage lady named Gemma was too sweet to believe.
