We had previously sailed Oosterdam out of Seattle to Alaska, we thought we'd try her going south. We arrived in San Diego around midmorning and took a taxi to the pier - arriving there around 10:30. There was a luncheon scheduled for the locals and we waiting in the outer area until they were ready for us. We were on board by 11:40 or so. Headed to the Spa to make an appointment to have hair done for Sunday evening's formal night - then to the Lido for lunch. Saw that Hunky-Dorey was still on board and said hello (what a great guy!)

We had arranged the CC Banner Wave, so we picked up the banner from the HM's office around 2:40PM (and invited Marcella to our meet and greet). Headed to deck 5 where we had some 27 or so CC friends to do the wave and signing. LAFFNVEGAS was present via cell phone... ;-) Sunday we had our CC meet and greet. HAL provided the requested coffee and tea but Marcella provided champagne, bloody Mary's and hors d'oeuvres (and Monica - Asst. Event Coordinator). We also had AYW dining and it worked out great for us all week. We prefer to eat earlier than most being early risers while in the "real world". No lines! Immediate seating and prompt (initial) service.

I think we attended some three of the evening shows - all were good (although we had seen the "ESCAPE" show while on our Alaska cruise).
