This was my 1st Carnival cruise. Have cruised 2 other times on Royal Caribbean. I wasn't sure what to expect, and wasn't sure if I would like it as well as Royal Caribbean. No worries mon!!! Conquest surpassed my expectations and I will definitely cruise Conquest again soon. Embarkation: We planned to get there early, but ended up not getting there until 1pm so the lines were very long. We parked at EZ Cruise as we had in the passed and all went smoothly there. Since we arrived after one we got onboard and then went directly to our cabin to drop our carry-ons off, etc. We had a balcony room and it was nice. LOVED the bedding...Slept in the bed next to the balcony and between the bedding, and hearing the swooshing of the water from the ships movement, sleep was heavenly...Our room steward was Trisna and he was a doll. Kept our cooler iced, our room tidy, and assisted us with anything we needed with a smile.. Dining: We dined most nights in the dining room. We were in Monet, table 329 which is on the lower level and in the back. That location had some shuddering the first night, but after that it was not noticeable. The views from our table were wonderful. We had 5:45 seating and the only thing I didn't like about that time was missing sunsets, but we could have left before dessert to catch one if it was that important. The food in the dining room was very good. I should have ordered 2 lobsters though as they were small. The chocolate melting cake that everyone raves about did not disappoint. It was my dessert of choice EVERY night. The Lido buffet was good and had a wide selection. Sur Mer was good too and no one was there when we went. You really have to know how to find it because it is EXTREMELY hard to find. We also enjoyed the burgers at the pool grill often for a quick bite at lunch, etc. Entertainment: The shows were ok...we went to the 1st one and didn't go to any others. We did go to the team (red, white, blue) games and that was a lot of fun and not to be missed. The "Not so newlywed game" was fun to watch too. My favorite entertainment was the piano bar for several reasons..Will just leave it at that..but lots of fun and miss it bad. Jamaica: We did not do an excursion at Jamaica. Heard so many mixed reviews and just decided to save some money. We did go into the port building and bought some Blue Mountain Coffee and other souvenirs. Took pics with some locals outside the ship who encouraged us to take our pic and then asked for a tip..It was all good. Grand Cayman: Our favorite port. We did the Reef, Rays, and Rum Point tour with Nativeway Watersports. Chris and his assistant were awesome. The stingrays were adorable and so friendly..I never would have thought I would have come away loving the little creatures..lol The only thing I would have liked was more time at Rum Point. Cozumel: Have been here before and this time I chose to do Dolphin Discovery at Chakanaab. We took a taxi and had no problems. The park was very nice and uncrowded. The beach there is rocky but they do have a step area to get into the water and several people were out swimming. Service on Conquest is what really stands out. Our room steward Trisna, and our dining server Assidee were excellent. Wee Jimmy was awesome as cruise director and we LOVED him! Loved Greg in the piano bar as well. We did have some plumbing issues that could have been handled better, but will not deter us from booking Conquest again, and hopefully SOON! ; )
