We are a family of 4. My husband and I are 36 and 40 and this was our 6th cruise. The kids are 14 and 7 and this was their 3 cruise. We have cruised Carnival (our favorite) and Royal Caribbean before.
We drove from Charlotte, NC to Miami and it really is an easy (but boring) ride. We stayed in Palm Beach, Florida the night before at the Best Western Palm Beach Lakes. The hotel was nice but we didn't realize that we were "not in the best area of town". Embarkation- We arrived just before 1 PM. This was very smooth. I think we were on the boat in less than 30 minutes. The champagne that they give you when you get onboard is a very nice touch.
