Sail Date: Mar 2008

We sailed on the Destiny March 30 - April 6, 2008. We had a wonderful time!

Our adventure began with our flight on Sunday the 30th from Tampa to San Juan. It was a very early start to a fantastic vacation. Our flight left Tampa at 7:30 a.m, and arrived in San Juan shortly after 10:00. Collected our luggage, got in a taxi, and headed off to the port. Once we dropped our luggage off with a porter, we spent some time exploring the area right around the port. At 1:00 we met the two other couples we were travelling with and checked in. And yes, you can buy alcohol in the duty free shop, tuck it in your carry-on, and bring it on the ship. They will be more then happy to tell how to do it in the duty free store.

Once on the ship we went to the pursers desk to get a cabin assignment problem straightened out, and request that our four balcony doors be opened up. Took all of 10 minutes, and they were very responsive and professional. Next up was the Maitre'd to get our whole group seated at the same table. Again, a 10 minute process with positive results. Headed up to the Lido deck for lunch, and by then it was time to go to our cabins. We actually ended up opening our own balcony doors. All it took was inserting a car key, twisting it, and it was done. Four balconies opened up makes for a very nice seating area. We always had the option of closing them for privacy, but kept them open much of the trip. We mixed a cocktail, and mapped out our plan of attack.
