My husband and I sailed on Majesty March 31-April 4th. It was his first cruise and my second. I took a spring break cruise 12 years ago when I was a senior in high school. It was on a very tiny ship from Dolphin Cruise Line (which no longer exists I believe). We decided to take a trip to celebrate our marriage (10-27-07), my graduation from my Masters program (May) and my 30th birthday (4-26). I was trying to keep my expectations low since I knew that Majesty was one of the older, smaller ships of the RCI fleet. But from the moment we arrived at the airport, the trip was nothing but perfect!

We flew from Detroit to Fort Lauderdale (because it was cheaper than flying to Miami)and landed about 10:00. We immediately found the RCI representatives in the baggage claim area since we had pre-paid for transportation to the pier. The representatives were extremely nice and helpful. We were on the first bus to the pier at 11:00. The 40 minute ride from Ft. L to Miami was relaxing and well air conditioned. Pulling up to the pier, I was amazed at the size of the ship, much bigger than I had imagined! Once we got to the pier, our luggage was taken care of and we headed up to check in. It took us about 15 minutes to get through and were eating lunch at the Windjammer in no time. After reading the message boards, I was prepared for a long wait to get on the ship, but everything was quick and hassle-free. After lunch, we went to our stateroom on deck 8. The room was clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. I was pleased that we could see quite well out the window, even though the life boats were obstructing the view. Our luggage arrived shortly after and then we walked around the ship and headed to deck 12 for sail away. Remember to wear sunscreen, even if you don't plan to be out long. I looked like a lobster by the end of the day.

One of my favorite parts of the cruise was nap time. Every evening before shows/dinner, my husband and I would set aside 2 hours to sleep before getting ready. We went to the shows every night and ate in the dining room for all dinners. Make sure if you are interested in nap time, choose the second seating! I thought I would be too hungry by 8:30, but a stop at the pizza place before nap time always took care of that. The food was good, certainly not the best I had every had, but good. The service was fantastic. The shows were always entertaining. I am a big disco fan, so I loved Boogie Wonderland. The comedian on the first night was great. I recommend going to the show...but don't be late. We also watched the love and marriage show and quest. Both were very funny. We enjoyed the captain's welcome on the second night and the free drinks that came with it. We also attended the Honeymoon reception. More free drinks and chocolate covered strawberries and cake! We also shared a story about our wedding and won a bottle of champagne. I think we only bought 2 drinks each the whole cruise!
