We sailed on the Crown Princess on March 29 and it was an amazing week. St. Thomas, St. Kitts, Grenada, Bonaire, Aruba and back to San Juan. We have been on many cruise lines but nothing can compare to the Beauty and Elegance of the Crown. From the moment we boarded we knew that this ship has been well taken care of. She is magnificent from the Bow to the Stern.

Much to our surprise we flew from the East Coast to San Juan arriving right on time to find our luggage coming down the belt as we got to the carousel. The Princess Representative was waiting for us as we got to baggage and walked us to a truck where they loaded our luggage and then boarded the bus for the Pier Terminal. The ride to the Pier is 15 minutes. Nothing could have been smoother. We arrived at the Pier at 1:30 pm and were on board within 20 minutes. One thing I did learn was that if you are going to buy liquor at the Duty Free shop before boarding be prepared to have anything other than wine, beer, water, or soda taken from you to be returned the night before you disembark. If you read on this site that Princess does not check, THEY DO!! They also will spot check your bags when you come back on board from being ashore. If you want to take liquor on board, do not walk on with a Duty Free bag, put the item in your carryon and they probably will let you by without a spot check.

Cabin: Once on board, we found our Cabin A710 which was an Oceanview Balcony--Port Side and quite comfortable. There was a large open closet, a safe, shelves for storing your folded items, a refrigerator, and a desk. The bathroom had shelves to stock personal items on next to the vanity which alleviated the clutter. The shower was a bit small and hard to maneuver in, but we made do. The Cabin was spotless and our cabin steward, Tawee from the Philippines was amazing. We asked to have the spread removed, an egg crate put on the mattress, extra pillows and extra beach towels and by the time we were done checking out the buffet in the Horizon Court he had done it all. Pretty Impressive. The one thing I noticed right away was that everything in the Cabin including the water all smelled clean. Other ships I have been on have had some kind of musty odor, Not the CROWN.
