The Navigator is a beautiful ship and looks about a year old. It is enormous and feels like a fabulous hotel. Bars are abundant, kind people to serve you virtually everywhere and even on a week with full capacity the only place that was "packed" was the sun deck on sailing day. (Reserve your seats by 9am and don't be surprised if they are STILL taken over by someone if you don't sit in them by 11am.)

There were many places on the ship for teens to spend time, yet not as many activities for kids from age 10-14. One thing I should stress: when you first get on the ship GO TO THE GUEST RELATIONS DESK AND GET THE WALKIE-TALKIE PHONES if you are traveling with more than just the two of you. Otherwise you will virtually be wondering where everyone is all the time. The phones are $25 dollars for the week and will save you SO MUCH time looking for your family.

We only saw the ice show (fabulous) and the comedy show. The other shows just didn't sound like they were that great. The food in the dining room was fine, though nothing special. The dining room service is very good, though. Windjammer food was also decent, though not different from day to day, but certainly everything you could want for breakfast or lunch. Promenade cafe was a great central place to stop for a quick yummy bite to tie you over. Late dinner seating is pretty late for anyone with kids. MAKE A RESERVATION FOR PORTOFINO OR CHOPS GRILLE IMMEDIATELY when you get on the boat. The views look amazing and the food is probably much better than the dining room, though we could not get a reservation...all booked up right away.
