This was our 15th cruise on various cruise lines . We choose to cruise with RCCI because we have always had good Cruise's with them . This Cruise left a little to be desired tho . Food quality has gone down from just a year ago on this same ship. The service was just that , nothing to make you feel special. One person at our table liked to eat a lot on his Cruise's so he would always order 2 or 3 steaks for dinner , This time when he did they bought out the 2 or 3 steaks on the same plate piled on top of each other , definitely not a good way to present them , as they were quit cold by the time he got to the 2nd 0r 3rd steak . It was not the proper way to serve them . They should have been brought out one at a time for him . Our serve staff always made mistake with the dinner orders giving to wrong dinner to each of us at the table , this was true with each course . Never once did the waiter sit my wife and give her ,her napkin for her lap. They always waited for all of us to be seated before they came to the table . The choice's on the menu each nite could have been a little better . On two different nights i had to ask for my soup twice as the waiter forgot to serve it .My wife a Calamar one nite and could not eat it , as it was cold and tried up and looked as tho it was thrown on the plate in a hurry . Wind Jammer buffet left a lot to be desired also. On the 11th night we all talked about the service and the quality of the food , and all 8 people at the table said the meal we all had was when we each ate lunch in Johnny Rochets on the 12th deck . That is not good when your best meal was a Hamburger and Fries and Onion rings , with a milk shake . They have stopped serving Chilean Sea Bass on the menu , i asked about it and was told they just don't serve it no more . They have also done away with Gauver Juice in the morning . We asked a couple of times for the menu choice's for each nite so we could book a night ay the specialty restaurant on a nite that we didn't care for the choices on the menu in the dinning room but could only find out the night before and by that time it is too late to book for the next night . Now on to the room we were in a balcony that we couldn't use until the 9th day on the Cruise, as the paint was chipping off all over the place . On 2 occasions paint chips fell into my morning coffee when i tried to sit out as i always do in the morning . So on the 3rd day i gave up on that . Safe doors were falling off . It must be like that all over the ship tho as 2 other couples at our table had the same problem with there safe , as well as some other people we talked to , we told our room stewart the first day we went into our cabin and all he said was that he was aware of it . They had the Quest game and an entertainer on at the same time one night ,so you had to choose between one or the other . That has never happened before ,as most everyone enjoys the Quest game . We choose the Jonathan Clark show that night and was not disappointed . Now for the good stuff Gordon the Cruise director was the best we could have asked for he was definitely the best we have ever had , i can not say enough about him , except that they can't do any better than that he was absolutely great .The entertainment was great every night . The production show were very good , the ice shows were great , the kids doing the ice shows were just tremendous, and so hard working . The ship needs to go into dry dock for some work , as it is getting run down . Some bathrooms were not always working . The bathroom in our cabin needs some new seats and things . This all might sound like we had a terrible Cruise , but quite to the contrary , we always have a good time when we Cruise . We have 3 more Cruise's booked this year with RCCI , and i expect to enjoy each of them. We just might have to brown bag it . All in all , all they need to do is bring up the Quality of the food and service in the dinning room to where it used to be . Happy sailing to all
