The 3-16-08 spring break cruise. Our 5th cruise and we were expecting a lot of college kids. we had 1,300 children on the ship with their parents and never caused a problem. The ship is beautiful to the eye, very plush. It's the next biggest ship for RC, but it's easy to get around. Many daytime and nightly activities to keep you busy if you want to be. Our cabin was laid out well, with plenty of drawers and mirrors and closet space that had about 25 hangers. The chairs on the balcony were comfortable strap chairs. We had the best cabin attendant of all our cruises. Word to the wise, bring your own hair dryer. The one in the cabin has a short cord and you must keep your finger on the "on" button or it will shut off. There are only 2 120 volt outlets in the cabin, so an extension cord is helpful. There are no outlets in the bathroom. Service all over the ship was great. Very friendly staff and they were always present and helpful with a smile on their face. Our love/hate feelings are with the food. The main dining room was great, the Windjammer food was repetitive and lacked selection. I didn't go on a cruise for hot dogs, hamburger, stews or pasta. Each day about 1/2 of the buffet line was the food I just mentioned. we switched to the main dining room for breakfast and dinner. Such a beautiful ship to look at everyday but lunch was a struggle. The bar drinks were generous and at $5.75,tip included, I thought were reasonably priced. Entertainment was hit or miss, meaning it was great or lousy. Don't miss the "newlywed game" it's very funny. The ice shows were good. After 40 years without skating, my wife tried skating on board. Some of our best pictures came from that. I now have blackmail pictures for years to come. Embarkation went smoothly and the lines moved quickly. Disembarkation was a long process, there are only 7 customs stations. If possible I recommend you get a porter for your bags to get out sooner unless you carry all [2 allowed] your own bags. A word to the wise; leave your impatience at home, go with the flow, be on island time mentally. This was a great, relaxing, fun filled cruise. I hope yours is too.
