Boarding process was the best we've ever experienced. They stared boarding about 11:45am. Within 15 min. we were onboard. The disembarkation was also an easy process although we had decided to be one of the last to leave. We had an oceanview cabin on deck two. Cabin was satisfactory. Although we did not watch much TV I would have thought they should have upgraded to a flat screen by now. A flat screen would give a little more maneuvering room. For the first four days of the cruise we good smell a sewage type odor in the hallway by our cabin. I would call to report it every day to guest services. On days two thru five our toilet was not always flushing. I notified guest services at least once per day. Toward the end of the cruise they finally said they had fixed the problem. I think the least they could have done was send us a letter of apology and/or offered some form of compensation, but there was nothing. I guess you never get anything unless you demand it. Our biggest disappointment was the dining room food. The first night there was almost no variety and the food had little taste. It seemed liked they wanted to give the cooks and chefs a break. Of the seven dining room evening meals, the only standouts was the duck and the lamb shank. Lobster was tough and dry. They did not even serve filet mignon. Instead they offered a NY strip steak which was tasty but no mignon. One night I had what they called 'fillet of beef'. It was just tough pieces of roast beef. Dining room lunches were also disappointing due to a very limited selection. Food was so-so. Definitely not fine dining. My wife and I were also disappointed that they only served lunch three times in the DR. There was no DR service while in port. The dining room lunch and dinner service was excellent. Thanks to head waiter JoJo and waiter Robert. RCCL is sure cutting back. Entertainment: Love the ice show(have seen it before on Voyager of the Sea). The rest of the entertainment was mediocre, including the the RCCL leading singers(especially the male vocal. We had an excellent cabin attendant. Our overall rating of the ship from items mentioned would be 2 1/2 out of five. A large part of our rating is based on the lower quality of food and entertainment that was not top notch.
