This wasn't the worse a cruise can be, but this was my fourth cruise and to say the very least I wasn't impressed at all. I have cruised on the Royal Caribbean cruise line in the past and they really set the bar high as far as room service, food, cabin up-keep, etc. I doubt I will every sail NCL ever again!!! I went to the Mexican Riviera with my boyfriend (BF) and I was embarrassed that I booked this cruise for us. We got out luggage piece by piece and it took up to 3 hours just to get 3 bags. When we finally received the last bag, it came back ripped. This was a little un-settling, but we decided to still make the best of everything. We then ordered some room service, I got a pizza and my BF got a sandwich and chips. My pizza tasted like a microwave meal and his sandwich was a little on the skimpy side. The portions were small. One night we called room service to see if they can make a grilled ham and cheese sandwich because they offered a grilled cheese sandwich as well as a ham and cheese sandwich on the menu, but for some reason they couldn't make this simple request happen. This was minor, but just a start to some of the small things in regards to service that were a disappointment. On the previous cruise line I went on we did have a TV and not too many channels are offered because we are traveling overseas, but this TV didn't even offer movie selections that you can purchase. We were on the boat at sea for 3.5 days and we just kept seeing that same old movies. I know we are supposed to get out and enjoy the ship, but it didn't seem like there was too much to due on this boat. It was a pretty small ship as it relates to entertainment. We went the Casino, had a couple of meals, hung out by the pool, and went to some of the lounges. The lounges had the very same acts each and everyday. They song the same songs over again. After about 3 days on the boat I felt like I had been there and done that. This cruise did have quite a few restaurants. For the most part they were good. It just wasn't too clear on some of the ones you had to pay additional for. This didn't make me too happy. I know some other cruise lines offer main dinner and this is supposed to be a "Free Style Cruise", but I felt like I was paying for most of the food when I paid for the trip. I do not understand why they have so many restaurants that I had to pay additional charges for, when other cruise lines offer some of that same food for free. I also think that if they take out some of those restaurants they can add more entertainment. When we went to the buffet it was horrible. It was like school cafeteria food. Overall I was very unimpressed.
