First of all I am one not to sit down and write reviews but I really felt I needed too because of the bad reviews I have seen in the past about NCL Star. This was our second cruise the first being the Diamond Princess for 7 nights to the Mexican Riviera 1/2007. Enough of that!!!

We live about 4 hours away so we drove to port 2 days ahead of our departure and we stayed at the Double Tree hotel in San Pedro for 2 nights and took in the So Cal sights. This is a great hotel about 3 miles down the road and we took advantage of the Park and Cruise rates, shuttle to and from the cruise center was good. Embarkation was a breeze 45 minutes and we were having lunch on the ship. we carried on 12 pack of soda, 12 pack of bottled water and 3 boxes of wine for our stateroom use and never had any problems. I think next time I will leave the water back home because the water on the ship was great.

We had a mini-suite deck 11 which was right under the pool deck and this was a mistake because whenever somebody moved a chair it was very loud in the stateroom. The creaking noise of our stateroom drove us crazy the first night underway but after that we just left the balcony open part way and the waves took care of that. The room it self was very nice, large and clean. These are really the only complaints we have.
