First of all, let me say that this was my very first cruise. I traveled with my 86 year old grandfather and my mother. I was very impressed at the airport by how quickly we were put onto the bus to be taken to the ship. I must say that RC is very committed to making things as easy as possible to someone in a wheelchair. We were escorted by a staff member at check in and was immediately put through to the front of every line. Kudos to all the RC staff for their friendliness!! They were so sweet and helpful. I think they need to be more informative about our excursions. We got different answers to the same questions and none of them sounded like they made any sense. The Captain seemed friendly, but the main person who made the cruise the most fun was Simeone. So funny and so much personality. I think his title was Cruise Director. He is in this position and job for a reason!!!
The cabins were ok. Showing some age and there always seemed to be a funny smell in the hallway. The ladder to climb up to the top bunk was horrible. There is no way that the older customers are allowed to do this climb. Our cabin guy was fantastic!! He always made sure we had clean towels and ice. The rooms are way too small, but I guess that's what you get when you get one without a balcony.
The food was fabulous!!!! My only complaint was that we were unable to get the early 6:30 dining time. We had to eat at 8:30 each night and by the time you are finished with a 4 course meal it is 10:30 and then you go to bed full and uncomfortable. The food was so good!! The wait staff is amazing! If you don't like something, just let them know and they will move heaven and earth to get you what you want.
