Sail Date: Feb 2008

We just got back from a 6-day cruise aboard the Carnival Liberty (Feb 10-16, 2008). My wife and I have been on five cruises (four with Carnival and one with RCL). We sailed with another couple that has also cruised with Carnival before. We are all 30 years old.

Embarkation: The line wasn't terribly long when we arrived around 11:00 am and we got through and onto the boat quickly. One new problem we noticed was the new luggage tags Carnival began using since our last cruise with them. They are made of paper and you have to staple them on. I stapled each of the tags with 8 to 10 staples and still one of our luggage tags ripped off just on the cab ride to the ship. The old luggage tags stayed on and were a good souvenir for in a scrapbook or something. Just one many examples of Carnival getting cheaper. Our luggage didn't arrive to our room until after muster drill.

Ship: The Liberty is only about 2 years old. Everything was clean and in good repair. The stateroom was clean and comfortable as is typical from our experience with Carnival. Beds were comfy. Bring your own pillow if you like a firm one. Bathroom included a few sample products (razors, antacid..). In the shower were liquid shampoo and bath gel in dispensers. I like these because I'm a man, but my wife really didn't use them. Our room came with bathrobes which was a nice surprise since we haven't got those in the past when we booked an inside cabin. Bring some antibacterial wipes to clean your TV remote...Yuck.
