High Points: * Beautiful cabin - spacious, plenty of closet and drawer space - CLEAN! * Beautiful ship - CLEAN, very ornate; rode great in the water. * Cabin steward - overworked (responsible for approx. 10-12 cabins); always cheerful and kept our room in good order. * Waitress/waiter - overworked (responsible for 4 tables of 6-8). Low Points: * Management of ship - awful. Crew is understaffed and carrying the load of 2 employees (at least). Dining room service was mixed. * Food - cheap, with the exception of a few dinners (beef, lamb chops, king crab legs). Desserts were dismal, as was the Lido buffet - nothing extraordinary; very bland, in fact. Pizza, pizza, pizza - dough is cheap; what can I say? * Smoking area - very limited for a large smoking populus on board. * Deck chairs - not available unless you got up on deck very early in the a.m. (7:00?) We paid a good price; not a steal, but a good price for 2 weeks (Western & Eastern back-to-back); however, in the future we would rather pay more $$$ on a different line - HAL, Celebrity, Princess (have proven their track record with us in the past). Even though cabin prices may differ, this should affect cabin arrangements only - not food and service. If we had booked a top of the line suite and paid full price - the food and service would have still been inadequate. We cruised Costa years ago and had a wonderful experience; apparently customer service and top shelf dining days have vanished and it's a shame. No more Costa for us.
