This was my 12th cruise & the 2nd time on the Destiny. My Husband & I are in our late 30's & early 40's & traveled without kids.

We arrived San Juan in the evening of Jan. 12th. It took a few minutes to get our bags & then headed outside of the airport to get a taxi. There is a taxi stand & someone managing it. They asked us where we were going & how many bags we had. They gave us a form with an amount. They charge a flat rate plus 1 to 2 dollars a bag. So only count your bigger luggage. I think it cost us about $25.00 for 2 people & 3 pieces of luggage to our hotel.

We stayed at the Caribe Hilton. This hotel featured an open air lobby with a bar, band & dancing. Check in was quick & easy. We received a double bed room with a balcony. On Trip Advisor people were concerned about the musty smell in the rooms and I would say that they are correct. However, it's humid in San Juan & all Hotels are probably similar. The smell didn't bother me. The air conditioning could only be set to 68 degrees which felt a little warm at first. The room also had a very comfy beds & a small balcony. For breakfast we went to Starbucks which is located in the Hotel Lobby. Check out was a breezy. We took photos of the pool, beach, & hot tub area. Very nice. I wish we would have stayed & used this area for the morning but we thought we would get to the port early. Again we took a taxi from the Hotel to the port. Read more
